A personal state of higher mental and physical awareness may be reached when understanding the complex vibrations that form a creative piece of music. One cannot calculate an accurate representation of this musical sense using even the most powerful of mathematics and computers. The complexities of the human mind and of conciousness itself cannot be understood fully and therefore are necessarily in place to view the sonic image in a harmonious and simplified way. These calculations may be made without any conscious effort and while listening to a piece sometimes the personal feelings that occur are inexplicable to the concious mind. Deeper thoughts and feelings, more intricate calculations, may be opened when a brain begins to learn how to associate these feelings with the musical data that seemed to create them in the first place.
Josh looks for a tap into this subconsious power through various styles of both playing and writing in the band; he tries to interact with all areas of the musical mindscape and learn the associations required to activate different chemical processes involved in "feeling the groove." The added intricacy of the other band members helps him to form the new ideas that his consiousness is not large enough to see on its own. Music is more than just an art, science or communication method: it is possibly an interface to spiritual immortality.
